Strength
Our bricks has been tested and it has the minimum compressive strength of 150kg/cm in composition. Thus they are as strong as concrete and possess Transverse strength of 32kg/cm.
Our factory are-spanning over 400 ropanies of land for infrastructures, equipped with Nepal’s best technology in brick/tile products, baked by around 700 well experienced and dedicated workforce, are all set to satisfy our valued customers in a better way than before, better than others.
Workers start with an extraction process of mud. The land area that Harisiddhi Brick and Tiles Factory covers has the most fertile soil, free of saline deposits which helps in forming the best quality of clay with a high level of plasticity.
A bulldozer is used to dig out usable soil where topsoils are disregarded and huge chunks of rich cultivable soils are collected in a truck. Only the purest of soil with a minimal amount of pebbles and other earthly impurities make it to the pug mill, where it is further refined. Nepal is an agricultural country, which means fertile soil is easily available everywhere. So for this particular reason, this area was designated for the brick manufacturing work so that extracting good quality soil for clay formation would be easier.
These huge raw portions of mud are unloaded onto the conveyor belt which will be carried to the pug mill in a mannerly fashion.
These irregular lumps of masses are mixed with water in the pug mill which forms a consistent deposit. It is further sent through an extrusion machine that pushes these filtered deposits through a rectangular opening leading to a long clay formation.
Now, the bricks are shaped! Metal strings cut through huge blocks of rectangular clay into smaller ones, at the exact size of a brick. At one swing of the clay cutter, 20 bricks are shaped. Most of these clay bricks make it to the tractor for the drying process, some don’t. This cutting process is repeated 9 more times, producing 200 pieces of clay bricks which is then carried on a tractor with a metal bed for the drying process. Harisiddhi Brick and Tiles Factory use fast Chinese technology to mold bricks rather than the slower traditional technique. This not only helps in production in large quantities, but it also contributes to making high quality perfectly shaped premium bricks.
After a short ride on a tractor, it is placed in an open area where the scorching sun and blowing wind remove moisture and water from these soft clay bricks. This drying process takes about 2 to 3 weeks before its heating process starts. Brick manufacturing works are totally avoided amid monsoon season due to constant rainfall and because of little to no sunshine. This makes the drying process impossible. During other months, occasional rainfall is a possible factor but a simple method of covering clay bricks with plastic covers provides a shield of protection to these firm clay bricks. Hundreds and thousands of clay bricks are laid out in perfect rows on the laps of the Himalayas.
Once the clay bricks lose their moisture and turn faded brown color, they are collected in a wheelbarrow which will be then taken to the kiln for the heating process. These types of kiln are fueled by coals. Once heated, it reaches up to 900 -1100 degrees Celsius, which is the perfect amount of temperature to ensure the fulfillment of the best quality of brick.
After extracting the bricks from the kiln they are categorized as first, second and third class bricks depending on its shape, size, color and water absorption property. The flawless first-class bricks are categorized as the HBTF quality bricks. These are the best of the bunch, well carved and baked to perfection which is well known as “Chinese bricks” to this day. These top-quality bricks are thoroughly used in every part of Nepal for architectural, infrastructural and all other kinds of building constructions.
The improved rate of brick production after privatization has directly contributed to erecting Nepal’s some of the most momentous landmarks like Tribhuwan International Airport which is the biggest and the only international airport in Nepal. Hyatt Regency, the first-ever five-star luxury hotel and resort in Kathmandu. Soaltee hotel, Godavari resort, Rastrya Banijya bank, Krishi bikas bank (agricultural development bank), Ministry of Health, Prime Minister residence both new and old and of course hundreds and thousands of residence of Nepalese people.
